Prince vs Dark Prince
Prince overviewThe Prince is a 5 elixir epic card that is unlockable in the training camp arena. He has decent hitpoints and fairly good damage but what makes him really scary is his charge ability. If left alone for a few tiles the Prince will go from medium speed to very fast and will do double damage to anything he hits. At tournament level he can do nearly 650 damage with a charge. thats like a swing from a Pekka. His main weakness are air troops and hordes. His lack of splash combined with a slow 1.5 second attack speed make him very vulnerable to cards like skeletons or goblins. Because of his fast speed the Prince can be used to ambush a tower and can take it down extremely fast if not dealt with properly. This makes him especially strong against new players who aren't ready for it.

Dark Prince OverviewThe Dark Prince is a 4 elixir epic card that is unlockable at the Royal Arena. Like his brother he has decent hitpoint sand has a chagre ability however he does much less damage. But he has a few other tricks up his sleeve. First, he does splash damage which makes cards like skeletons or goblins ineffective counters to him. Secondly he has a shield which is separate from his main hitpoints. This allows him to take a hit from heavy hitters like the Pekka or Sparky without affecting his main health. Thirdly he is cheaper which means you can play him faster and with less of a risk. Like his brother he suffers from his lack of air attack making cards like the minion horde a strong counter. But this is where his lackluster damage comes in. Often times people will just leave a Dark Prince on the tower because he is not seen as much of a threat. The Dark Prince is a support troop not a solo hero like his brother.

Which Prince is better and which one should you use?
Both Princes have their strengths and weaknesses. Overall if you were only going to use one of them in your deck I would recommend the Prince his damage and speed make him a strong solo card. He has a niche role with no other card like him able to do that much damage at such a fast speed. The Dark Prince's main role is Splash support and while he is good at that there are many better options. The Princess can provide air and ground coverage from afar, the Valkyrie can be used as a tank and has 360 degree ground coverage and the wizard can one shot any small troops. However when they are used together the Dark Prince can really shine as no other troop can match their speed and keep up with them. The most effective placement is at the bridge with the Dark Prince first to tank for the Prince and take out smaller ground attackers thus allowing the Prince to get his charge off. Overall I believe that despite the splash damage, lower cost and shield of the Dark Prince his brother is still slightly better. However neither are at there full potential unless they are used together.
